Day 5

We had a good night sleep in the campground and the kids got to run around and play on the nice playground. They had this huge Jumping Pillow that was so awesome. Its like a bounce house only its open and looks like a huge pillow on the ground. I got on and was jumping with Lance but should have known better not too. He's one of those people who gets on a trampoline and jumps right before you come down so theres no spring left and you kill your knees, or he'll jump right as you are jumping down and you go ten feet higher, which always scares the crap out of me so I go flailing up as my life flashes before my eyes!

After we started back on the road, there wasn't really much else to see in Kansas. I bunch of hills where every other billboard is for a Wizard of Oz memorabilia shop, and ever other field was litered with cows.

Somehow though, we did miss Chimney Rock to prepare the wagon for the trip over the mountains. We stopped to barter for enough food and Lance hunted for buffalo giving us 200lbs of good meat. Hopefully its enough to survive. We all made it over the river crossing after deciding to forge the river but we hope the dysentery outbreak passes. (sorry, daydreaming of the Oregon Trail).

We ended the day once again in a KOA, this time just outside Denver, Colorado.
